Emma completed an apprenticeship at a London restoration company, working on painted and gilded furniture and frames involving special paint techniques, water and oil gilding.

She studied at City and Guilds of London Art School, London to achieve a diploma in ornamental wood carving and gilding.

Emma has been working from her own workshop since 1992, accepting commissions for lettering and sculpture in wood and stone. Also lettering and other designs in verre eglomise. She has exhibited in 2005 and 2008 in The Battery, Salisbury, Wiltshire with two other artists.
